Alia Shawkat has been a television actress for more than twenty many years. She was born on 18th April 1989 located in Riverside California. She played Maeby as Maeby in the Fox series Arrested Development, a part that won her TV Land Future Classic Award. She appeared in Whip It with Ellen Page. Shawkat was Hannah in the film State of Grace, from 2001 until 2004. Shawkat portrayed Maeby Funke throughout the entire run of Arrested development from 2003 until the year 2018 when she was a part of the cast that remained. The show received a majority of positive reviews with Shawkat's performance often being praised. Brian M. Palmer described Shawkat as "one of the brightest spots in a show that is populated with the brightest lighting" as well Scott Weinberg (eFilmCritic) called the actress a funny young woman. In an interview she did with The A.V. Club in 2010, Shawkat stated that a lot of her most memorable moments as an actress occurred on her Arrested Development set: Mitch Hurwitz was like a father figure to me. The time I spent on the Arrested Development set was extremely valuable for me, as it enabled my appreciation of comedy to really grow. Shawkat appeared with Eva Mendes and Eric Wareheim in Har Mar's Tall Boy video, which was a music video from Whip It star Har mar Superstar. In October of 2009, it was revealed that Shawkat Har Mar and Whip It's co-star Ellen Page would produce and write a show for HBO called Stitch N Bitch. The Hollywood Reporter states that two hipster women who have a cool lifestyle move into Los Angeles Silver Lake from Brooklyn Williamsburg in the hopes of becoming any type of artist. Alice Braga has also played in the role of Teresa Mendoza within the crime thriller/drama TV show Queen of the South. The actress received plenty of accolades and awards for her performance.
